FILTER COFFEE ESPRESSO WITH WHIPPED CREAM
As an ardent fan of coffee,i try various recipes with coffee..and i do all my recipes with freshly brewed homemade coffee decoction..you can check out my post on how to brew fresh decoction at home here at how-to-make-traditional-filter-coffee
So,basically i love desserts (ahem ahem...i can hear u muttering WHO DOESNT LOVE DESSERTS)..I wanted to try my hands on coffe which will inturn turn into a fusion of hot coffee plus a tinge of a dessert in it..so i thought of adding a twist to our regular coffee..here goes the recipe..enjoy to the fullest..
INGREDIENTS:
- MILK - 1 CUP
- DECOCTION - 3 TO 4 tablespoons(you can adjust according to how strong you want the coffee to be)
- sugar - 2 tablespoons
- FRESHLY WHIPPED CREAM - one big dollop
METHOD:
- Boil milk thoroughly.
- pour one cup of milk in a metal vessel..am mentioning metal because the vessel should be able to hold the heat of the milk..(THE MILK SHOULD BE BOILING WHILE YOU POUR IT IN THE VESSEL).
- Add the decoction and sugar
- use a hand blender with the whipping blade(DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WHISK IT IN A FOOD PROCESSOR OR MIXIE..U WILL END UP BURNING URSELF AS THEY WONT HOLD HOT LIQUIDS AND SPLASHES ALL OVER ONCE U START PULSING).
- Start to whisk at low speed making sure the milk doesnt splash.Initially it tends to splash,so am asking you to be on low speed..be patient here.
- keep whisking untill it becomes frothy and stops splashing around..
- now u can increase the speed to high .
- you can see the coffee becoming more and more frothy.
- stop when u see the milk has doubled in volume.
- now pour into the serving coffee mug .it should fill 75 percent of the mug.
- add a big dollop of chilled whipped cream to it.
- now ur coffee is ready to be consumed.
